De manier waarop we onze steden en het landschap inrichten laat zien wat ons denken beheerst. De tijdsgeest in de 20ste eeuw was er een die vooral rationeel was. Strakheid en zakelijkheid hebben overheerst bij de vormgeving van onze steden, van onze gebouwen en hoe we onze woonwijken in Nederland inrichten. Ook het agrarische landschap is versimpeld, een monocultuur overheerst. Geen grassprietje staat verkeerd....

Kan dat nou niet anders? Waar is de romantiek? Is het mogelijk om een duurzame symbiose aan te gaan met onze natuurlijke omgeving?

English: The way we build our cities is a reflection of the state of mind of humanity. The way we create our environment and houses reflects the way we think. The age we live in is reflected in the way houses are build and the urban environment is formed. In his work Huub Ragas is looking for answers to the question of what our cities and environment should and could look like. Beneath this question lies another question: how can we best find a balance between comforts of living and at the same time sustaining the natural environment? Is it possible?
